30 Day Pinterest Challange (week 4)

Week four of the Pinterest Challenge and I was doing pretty well until this weekend. I'm off on Friday's and usually make some kind of effort to put myself together, but this past Friday I didn't have any major plans. No date night with the Hubby or Girl's night with my Besties. We did however have a play date with one of my girlfriends and her little girl so I opted for Yoga pants, a v-neck and my favorite Giant's ball cap. Otherwise I probably would have been in my jammies all day. TRUTH!
The rest of the weekend was pretty much the same and I LOVED IT!

Hey batta batta batta batta (Trendy Tot Tuesday Link up)

Baseball is a pretty big deal in our house. It's one of the first things that connected my Husband and I when we first started talking (we met online over 10 years ago... more on that on another post).
We both can't wait for the day that Rocco is old enough to play T-Ball. Until then we'll have to settle on dressing him like a ball player. Love it!

"Plaaaay baaaaall"

This game was just too intense for Rocco

30 Day Pinterest Style Challenge week 3

This Challenge is starting to get kinda hard. What I started doing is picking out an item from my closet that I want to wear and go on Pinterest and enter said item in the search field.
So for example I entered, "white blouse" and up came hundreds of looks that included a white blouse. Easy, huh?!

Toddler Tuesday (Trendy Tot Tuesday Link Up)

The weather has been wonderful in Northern California. We have had many trips to the park and bike rides around the block.
I recently found these super cute v-necks for my little guy on HauteLook. I was able to snag three different colors for him. He reminds me so much of my Hubby here, minus the Tom's. The Hubby's got attitude about these Tom's or any Tom's for that matter, but whatevs!
I hope you're all enjoying your Spring as much as we are!!

A Work In Progress

I have been hesitant to share my fitness story for a while. Mainly because I was embarrassed at how I used to look, but then I got to thinking, when I began working out over a year ago I was only four months postpartum. Sure, I let myself gain over 50 pounds while pregnant, but the important thing is I decided to do something about it.
Let me start from the beginning. In March of 2012 I began the P90X2 program. Every day after my afternoon nap with my then 4 month old son I'd get up and workout with my Husband. (Maternity leave was bliss) We'd put our little guy in his jumper or swing and get our work out in.
I didn't really alter my eating. The only thing I did stay away from was sweets and fast food. Other than that I ate what I wanted and I was also  breast feeding so I know those extra calories I burned helped me to lose the last of the baby weight.
When I returned to work in May, I felt great! All of my pre baby clothes fit again and people at work noticed too, which was nice. I continued to workout every day with my husband. We'd wait for our little guy to fall asleep and get out workout done. Sure, I complained most days and didn't want to workout, but my supportive and sometimes pushy Husband was there to push me to get off the couch and workout with him. Love you, Boo!
And then the Holidays came and along with the Holidays 8 lbs. found their way back on to my ass. I was miserable. Yes, I was working out, but it didn't matter because of all the junk I allowed myself to have.
So then came January. And I, along with the rest of America resolved to lose weight. I was at least realistic about my goal, 20 lbs in a year is very doable. I restarted the P90X2 program, began training for my second half marathon, and started to eat cleaner. I began to read ingredients, not nutrition labels, and prepare my meals for work.
Since January, I have lost 11 lbs and over 8 inches. It's not much, but it's progress. I am trying to not stress the number on the scale and go by how I feel and my progress photos. I totally recommend this to anyone that is beginning their fitness journey. Get in your undies or booty shorts and sports bras, Ladies and take a before photo. It's great to look back on and see how far you have come. Especially on those days when you're bummed out over the number on the scale. Oh, and take your measurements too!
So with that said here is my "Before" and "During" photo. It's not a before and after because I am no where near done. I am a work in progress.

March 2012 & April 2013

As of April I have began the Insanity - The Asylum program in combination with 10 Minute Trainer which are also Beach Body products.
I also became a Beach Body Coach to keep myself accountable and to also show other busy Moms (and Dads) that they too can find time in their hectic days to just, "Push Play!"
Please comment or email me with any questions. I would love to help you reach your goals!!

Toddler Tuesday (Trendy Tot Tuesday Link Up)

This photo was from this past Saturday. We attended my little Cousin's QuinceƱera.
The hall had a nice, open, grassy area for Rocco to run around in. As well as a cool ramp to run up and down about 50 times. Needless to say he slept like a champ that night.
This boy was all smiles as long as he was outside. Thankfully my Dad LOVES being on Rocco duty and helped us out a ton by playing with him while we ate and visited with family. Thanks, Papi!

Running Of The Elk Half Marathon recap

I ran my second half marathon of the year today. Running my second half so close to my first was a last minute decision and I'm so glad I went through with it.
After my previous race (3 weeks ago) I wanted to see if I could break 2:30 since I came so close the last time. Well, I did it! I set a new Personal Record of 2 hours 29 minutes.
This was the first half I did that my husband wasn't running. It was SO nice to have him and our little boy there cheering me on. They met me at the half way point and at the finish line. Swoon!!

Love the sign they made. "Go Mommy... Kick some booty"

This run was way different than my previous Halfs. There were no tears or deep moments of clarity this time. I was too busy singing along to my jams, I guess.
I plan on taking a two week running break to fully heal my IT Band and focus on my new work out. The hubby and I are starting Insanity the Asylum. Eek! Wish me luck!

He ran up to me and wrapped his little arms around my legs as soon as he saw me. Love him!

My "game face" needs some work ;)

Toddler Style (Trendy Tot Tuesday Link Up)

This is our little guy, Rocco. He's going on 17 months and I love dressing him like a mini 'Dada' Dressing my boy like the Hubs is one of my most favorite things in the world. The second I saw this shirt on Zulily a few months ago I new my little guy had to have it. While, skinnies aren't really my Hubby's style I think they look SO cute on my not so skinny toddler.
